Arrangements are made subject to the following Terms and conditions and a client’s signature on the booking form or submission with payment of an email, telephone or online booking is confirmation that they accept and agree to be bound by these conditions.
Online bookings must be paid for in full at the time of booking and will be confirmed immediately. Postal bookings will be deemed firm on receipt of the completed, signed booking form. We will confirm your postal booking subject to availability within approximately 7 days. Postal bookings made within 8 weeks of start date must be accompanied by the full price; more than 8 weeks before with the deposit as specified, apart from special offers, weekend and one day courses which are payable in full at time of booking. The final balance is payable no later that 8 weeks before start date and for payments where the deposit has been paid by bank or credit card the balance will be debited to the same card on the due date unless the client informs us that they wish to make another method of payment. We reserve the right to sell the reserved berth if full payment is not received by that date. Any discounts given are conditional on the full payment being received by us at time of booking. If we are successful in selling the berth then only the client’s deposit will be forfeit. If we fail to sell the berth the client will be liable for the full fee. No fees are refundable for reason of business or personal commitments, or illness, or if a client leaves during the course/cruise/passage and clients are advised to take out personal insurance which covers most personal risks including cancellation. Bookings are not transferable to another date or person. Personal insurance including adequate medical cover is mandatory for all bookings outside the U.K. We must receive a copy of your insurance policy with your booking form.
Delay/Non-arrival. Clients are asked to make every effort to arrive between 2000-2030 hours for all U.K. courses, however, in the case of an emergency no problems arise provided that we are informed and that the client is on board by 0900 latest the next day. In the case of Cross Channel/Long Distance Cruises starting from Southampton, the vessel will not wait beyond 2100 hours on the day of commencement. In respect of courses/cruises commencing from destinations outside the U.K. the vessel will wait for a total of 12 hours but it is imperative that we are informed of any delayed arrivals. Please note that for health & safety reasons it is not possible to join the yacht after 2100 hours, the next arrival time is 0900 hours the next day, this applies to both inside and outside U.K. and Hobo Yachting are not liable for any overnight accommodation expenses incurred due to arrival after 2100 hours. The yacht will not wait beyond the times stated and no fees are refundable for any reason including business or personal commitments, illness, accident or travel delays. Passports are required for all courses/passages outside U.K. and no fees are refundable for lack of these.
All clients must comply with the Terms of the joining details, which will be sent out approximately 3 weeks before the start of the course/passage.
All clients must comply with Hobo Yachting’s health & safety policy (displayed on board).
Our yacht is fully insured against all maritime risks and for instruction. However, Hobo Yachting strongly advise that clients obtain their own insurance for illness or accident on board or ashore, course/passage fees, personal equipment or for any other reason the client considers prudent for his personal needs. Clients participate in any on-board activities at their own risk.
Breakages or damages howsoever caused must be immediately notified to the Skipper. Clients shall be liable for any loss or damage to the vessel or its equipment up to the first £100 per item.
Bookings are accepted subject to the Yacht/Instructor being available. The right is reserved to cancel any bookings made and in event of such cancellation no liability shall fall on us except that any monies paid shall be refunded on a pro-rata basis on the number of days cancelled by us.
Although every effort will be made to adhere to the published course dates and destinations there is no guarantee of this. We accept no liability for expenses incurred due to late return or alternative destination for any reason.
The skipper has overall command of the yacht at all times and his decisions regarding the crew when on board are final in accordance with Maritime Law. If for any reason whatsoever the client does not accept an instruction from the Skipper, whether the client considers it to be reasonable or not, the client shall be considered to be in breach of contract. The Skipper shall take any action he deems necessary and if the client is placed ashore at the nearest port no liability shall attach itself to Hobo Yachting, neither shall the client have redress for any expense or unused portion of the fee, or against the Skipper.
